April 11: Celebrate Jackie Robinson Day with His Favorite Fish!

It's Jackie Robinson Day! This day is dedicated to the celebration of legendary Major League Baseball player Jackie Robinson. Jackie Robinson started his career in major league baseball in April of 1947. His debut with the Brooklyn Dodgers made him the first black major league baseball player and officially ended eighty years of baseball segregation.

During Jackie Robinson Day, players, managers and coaches on teams celebrating the gala wear the number 42 on their jerseys, Jackie Robinson's number. Meanwhile, our Dishfolio food bloggers are celebrating Jackie Robinson Day by featuring recipes of the legendary sportsman's favorite food, fish.
