September 10: Have a Healthy Papaya on National Papaya Month!
Here at Dishfolio we love the exotic feel that accompanies tropical fruit, and this is certainly the case when it comes to papaya. Why not celebrate the great taste and numerous health benefits of this fruit during National Papaya Month with some of our online food recipes?
The exact origin of papaya is unknown, but it's believed that it originates from South Mexico or Central America. Now, it's enjoyed worldwide and is a popular fixture at the breakfast table, as well as featuring in many salads, curries and chutneys. The rich orange color of the flesh is not only appetizing, but also renders the papaya the ideal fruit for artistic food photography.
You might be interested to know that papaya can be enjoyed in tea form, and has numerous medical uses. Many take papaya for heartburn because its meat-tenderizing properties make it an excellent candidate for breaking down stomach toxins.
