December 6: Celebrating Independence Day in Finland with Fantastic Finnish Cuisine!
Finland's Independence Day is celebrated on the 6th of December every year to commemorate the country's declaration of independence from the Russian Republic. There are many state festivities held during the joyous holiday in Finland but one of the more popular ones was organized by the philanthropist Veikko Hursti, where he provides free food for the underprivileged Finnish citizens.
We here at Dishfolio love this idea and today is a great day to share your blessings with others. Why not try out some fantastic Finnish cuisine to make for your local charity? Finnish dishes often include wholemeal products like rye and barley as well as different kinds of berries. The color and texture of blueberries, cloudberries and more also inspires the best food photographers in the world to take out their food photography equipment.
