Celebrate the Japanese Feast of Lanterns with Delicious Japanese Food!
Here at Dishfolio, we love to try something new and exotic and the Feast of Lanterns is the perfect time to do just that! This festival has been celebrated in Japan for over five centuries, and Buddhist temples all over the country become centers for dancing, light shows and, of course, food!
Today, food plays an important role in the Feast of Lanterns. People often place food offerings at their doors or on their house altars in order to ward off evil spirits. In Japanese-American cultures, this festival is a time when temples are turned into cultural focal points, where traditional Japanese art is displayed and Japanese sky lanterns are lit.
Did you know that many sushi restaurants across America offer take-out services? The Feast of Lanterns is the perfect time to try some authentic sushi, or to look up some quick and easy dinner recipes inspired by Japanese cuisine.
