May 24-25 : Shavuot Day (blintzes)

Shavuot Day is one of the lesser-known holidays in the Jewish community, and for many, tat means dairy dishes galore! Recognizing the gift of the Torah, it is traditionally celebrated with candle-lighting, synagogue visits, and learning the Torah during an all-night study session. It is also customary to consume dairy foods while keeping with kosher traditions.

Blintzes are one of the favourites on this day because their cheese fillings make them a perfect fit. More importantly, however, they also offer historic significance as these pancakes were brought to North America by Eastern European Jewish immigrants.
