November 6: Enjoy a Nordic Twist this Finnish Swedish Heritage Day
Unity and unique cuisine make for a great Finnish Swedish Heritage Day! This day celebrates the Swedish-speaking communities in Finland and features radio program along with local celebrations. It was created in 1908 when Swedish nationals living in Finland wanted their own day. There was strife between the Finns and Swedes until after World War II, when they decided to focus on their similarities and common roots instead of their differences.
This great lesson learned from history deserves commemoration through these great online food recipes enjoyed by Dishfolio food bloggers. Mix different elements from Swedish and Finnish food tradition for a Nordic twist on quick and easy dinner ideas. Enjoy culinary photography of attractive desserts and new fish dishes. The difficult part of experimenting with these cuisines is choosing what to serve tonight!
