August 8: Recognize Father's Day in Taiwan with Appreciation and New Cuisine!
Celebrating the fathers and father figures in our lives is an international affair! While not an official holiday, Taiwan honors fathers in August while other countries tend to choose June. Taiwan chose the eighth day of the eighth month because the date is pronounced ba-ba in Mandarin Chinese-which also means father.
One day a year is not enough to commemorate all our fathers and father figures do for us. Why not add a second Father's Day this year? Cook your father's favorite family dinner recipes with a Taiwanese cuisine twist. Recognize the day with great food photography and family pictures. Offer small gifts and make this another day to let the fathers in your life know how much they are appreciated. Let the suggestions by Dishfolio food bloggers help. Not even two days a year is enough but the gesture speaks volumes!
