Here at Dishfolio, we love to learn about different religions and cultures, and their various practices. Ramadan is the Islamic celebration, which involves fasting for a period of one month. The practice of celebrated Ramadan dates back to 610 AD, making it over 1,400 years old.
Today, Muslims observing Ramadan spend one month fasting, and only eat when the sun is down. This means that they eat before sunrise and after sunset, and often large meals are eaten in order to stave off hunger. Meals will often include dried fruit, nuts, seasonal fruit and vegetables and dough-based foods.
