August 21: Cool Down with Refreshing Lemonade on National Lemonade Day
On a hot summer's day, there's nothing better than a glass of cool, crisp lemonade served over ice, but we at Dishfolio were surprised to learn that people have been drinking lemonade for thousands of years! An early type of lemonade was consumed in Ancient Egypt, and was known as "qatarmizat".
Today, lemonade is incredibly popular all over the world, and is sold in cans and bottles in most food stores. In the summer, children in suburban areas of America often set up a lemonade cart or stall, where they sell homemade lemonade as a way to make extra pocket money.
